About Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are an effective, simple way to address cosmetic flaws on the surface of the teeth as well as gaps between the teeth. Veneers (Lumineers, No-Prep, and Davinci) are thin covers that are custom made to fit each patient's teeth and fit comfortably on the outer surface. Our Beachwood Dental team can successfully place porcelain veneers on our Los Alamitos, CA patient's teeth to cover up stains, cracks, chips, or gapped teeth in order to present a more appealing and cosmetically uniformed smile. This is a minimally-invasive procedure that offers quick, longer-lasting results to anyone looking to restore their smile and confidence. We invite our patients to schedule a consult with our dentists to discuss their options and goals.

What to Expect
To begin the process of making the veneers, our dentist must make room for the veneer by removing a thin layer of enamel from each tooth that will be covered. Once the teeth have been prepared, our dentist makes a digital impression of the teeth, which will be used to create the custom veneers in a dental laboratory. A temporary veneer will be used to cover the teeth until the porcelain veneers are returned to the dentist's office. The custom veneers will be attached to the front of the teeth with a special resin bonding agent. Our dentist will adjust the veneers as needed to give you a comfortable fit.
Treatment Aftercare
A follow-up appointment is usually scheduled for about a week after the veneers are placed to make sure the bond is secure and the fit is still comfortable. Porcelain veneers are more resistant to staining than your natural enamel, but to keep the veneers in their best condition, it is advised to avoid staining foods and drinks, like coffee, soda, tea, and red wine. Patients should continue to follow a good home oral care routine, including brushing their teeth with a non-abrasive toothpaste, flossing, and visiting our dentist for professional cleanings and dental exams. With good care, porcelain veneers can last up to 20 years.
