Once placed onto the teeth, a patient’s cosmetic flaws, such as chips, stains, irregular shape, or gaps, can be concealed and restored. They are typically placed only on the front of the teeth and the chewing surface to eliminate bulk. They are also easier to place onto the tooth and require very little preparation prior to the procedure, offering quick, longer-lasting, and natural-looking results that our patients love. What to Expect
Lumineers usually only take 2 visits to complete: first to prepare the teeth and make impressions, then a second visit to fit and bond the custom Lumineers. At the first visit, our dentist will take physical impressions of the upper and lower arches, as well as digital X-rays and photos, which will be sent to a Lumineers laboratory where the custom veneers will be created. Once the Lumineers are produced and returned to our office, the patient will return to have their veneers fitted. To secure the fit between the teeth and the veneers, our dentist will lightly etch the teeth before bonding the Lumineers to the teeth. Finally, our dentist will adjust the veneers as needed to ensure the teeth are aligned and comfortable.
Treatment Aftercare
With proper care, Lumineers® can last up to 20 years. These ultra-thin veneers are made with high-quality materials and properly fitted by our certified dentists, allowing patients to enjoy their favorite foods and drinks without unnecessary restrictions. Patients should continue a good home oral care routine, including brushing, flossing, and visiting our office for regular dental exams and cleanings. They can also be removed at any time without concern, as the procedure does not require grinding down the natural teeth before placement.
