Dr. Thao Nguyen Vu is a board-certified orthodontist at Beachwood Dental in Los Alamitos, CA, who specializes in craniofacial and dental surgery. Dr. Vu is board-certified in orthodontics and is also educated in craniofacial biology as well. Dr. Vu attended the University of California Irvine on a Regent’s Scholarship, earning her Bachelors degree in biology and graduating cum laude. After completing her Undergraduate degree, she attended the elite University of California Los Angeles to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. In order to fulfill her dream of becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Vu then attended the graduate orthodontics program at University of Southern California where she not only became certified in orthodontics, but she also received her Masters degree in craniofacial biology. Upon completion of the program, she was awarded the Harry L. Dougherty Award for Clinical Excellence. After completing the certification process and her graduate school career, she decided to take a set of clinical examinations, where she scored in the top 5% of examinees nationwide, allowing her to become board certified in orthodontics. 

Dr. Vu was awarded the Harry L. Dougherty Award for Clinical Excellence upon graduating from her masters program. She was also recognized as placing in the top 5% in her clinical examinations nationwide to become board certified. She is proud to be a member of the following affiliations:
