About Gingivitis
Gingivitis is a common condition that affects many patients. It is the first stage of gum disease, which can eventually, if left untreated, result in advanced stages of periodontitis and tooth decay. What to Expect

During the scaling process, our dentist or hygienist will use a tool to remove and scrape out the built up plaque and tartar from the gum pockets (the place where the teeth and gums come together). Once all the plaque is successfully removed, the next step is to smooth out the surface of the teeth in order to help prevent further build up and irritation.
